Nowimagine the joy of that non-programmer to find that he could download ImageTool from the Internet!! I am still very happy to have found this package, however, I amconfused with regards to the Data Translations plug-ins. I am trying tosend a TTL trigger to grab frames with a DT3152 under Win95. Whenever I tryto run one of these plug-ins (DTOLconfig.dll or DTOL.dll) from the menu Iget the error "This is not an IT plug-in." I have downloaded these 3 timesand unzipped them with various programs all with the same result. Afterreading through the e-mail archives it seems that as of July '96 only theDT3155 was supported and only in NT. However, the current Users Manualstates ... "ImageTool currently provides support for the DT3152 and DT3155cards under both Windows 95 and Windows NT." Can anybody provide an update with regards to Win95 support for thisboard, or perhaps explain how to get the plug-ins to work??? I don'tknow why it tells you yout image is not binary, i have tried everything tofix it and it can't be stopped. If you use your whole image you cansimply threshold your image (under processing) and push the selector allthe way over so that the range reads (0,1). This turns grey scale toblack and white. You can then use one of two things. either count theblack and white pixels as usual, or if you want to select an area, use thehistogram, select your area, and the reading will give you a percentage ofblack pixels. Hope that helps, let me know if it doesn't. -- Laura Cowen lcowen@sfu.ca Indeed, it is an extreme irony of evolution that the only creatures capable of uncovering their own evolutionary history, choose so often to cover it up. -Robert Russell ------------------------------Date: Thu, 17 Oct 1996 16:17:24 +0000From: "Tony Collins" To: it-list@sparky.uthscsa.eduSubject: dt3155 multi acquireMessage-ID: <44E32E87AF8@srv0.bio.ed.ac.uk>I am wanting to acquire two sequential stacks as quickly as possible. I have just recently discovered ImageTool 1.25and it fills a huge niche in our field for looping satellite images onour NT platforms with a its very friendly GUI. My heartfelt thanksto the developers!I should probably note that I am using NT 4.0, build 1381.I have two questions:1) I am unable to display the "stack toolbar" under the windows menu.Is there another way to enable this toolbar? My other windows are ableto be displayed and hidden correctly. Otherwise, I don't know of anotherway to change the stack play back speed, and I think that would be anice option to use.2) I am also having problems reading back the saved stacks. The stacksappearto be saved successfully, but upon opening the saved stacks the memoryallocationon my machine takes off with well over 100MB attempting to be allocatedbefore I have to terminate IT using the Taskmanager. The stack I savedwas 7 512x512 TIFF images for a 1,804 KB stack file, so I don'tunderstandwhy IT is attempting to allocate all that memory. Should we open savedstack files (*.stk) some other way than the File / Open Menu command?Again, the looping capabilities are greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance.Andy.--------------------------------------------------------------------Andrew S. I know that macros havebeen written for NIH Image that allow one to directly import DigitalInstrument's Nanoscope III SPM (scanning probe microscope) image files. Isthere a similar macro available for IT v1.25? I am particularly interestedin importing the image files in such a manner that a separate spatialcalibration is not necessary (i.e. the macro reads the image header andextracts the necessary scaling information). If such a macro does not exist,is it possible to write one? Thanks in advance for any help!Joe---------------------------------------------------Joseph E.
